About the event
Sligo Jazz Project’s first Composer-in-residence Brian Byrne is a Golden Globe nominated
creator of film scores and a world class jazz pianist. Byrne's album Goldenhair masterfully
interweaves James Joyce's poems with a variety of musical styles from traditional to jazz. The
specially augmented SJP Big Band’s All Star line up is the perfect ensemble for Byrne’s
creative masterwork.
